About Kind Counselling
Kind Counselling is a supportive and non-judgmental space for women to explore their thoughts and emotions. With an approach rooted in mindfulness, compassion and committed action, clients are guided to feel empowered and in control of their journey towards healing.

As an Acceptance and Commitment Therapist the aim is to help people accept their symptoms and painful emotions — and to create a fulfilling life in spite of them.
Art Therapy is often used together with ACT in sessions to help reduce stress, process trauma and have a positive effect on your mental health.

Meet the Team
Maria works from a
bio-psycho-social-spiritual lens, using a Holistic approach to understand and support the whole-person. She believes being supported to connect to our emotions and our true authentic self through acceptance, compassion and action we can find the inner guidance to our healing.

Supervision
External Supervision & Consults
I offer external supervision and consults for social work (or related) professionals who work in family support, including assessing family risk, safety and wellbeing goals. I can also provide consult to small businesses working with families.
“Supervision is the systematic, reflective process which supports social workers to make ethical decisions. It also improves confidence, competence and morale, leading to a better service for those who use social work services.”
BASW

Supervision and reflection has been shown to offer an important mediating role in supporting social workers to remain true to their principles. It prevents a focus on purely outcome-driven cultures supporting a more reflective, holistic focus on the supervisee and their practice.

Learning styles can change over time and one is not more important or desirable than another and each style will have favourable and unfavourable activities. Being aware of areas that we can develop in is an important aspect of learning and professional development.

The four styles relate to preferences for the above parts of the supervision cycle:
Experience – Activist style
Reflection – Reflector style
Analysis – Theorist style
Action Plans – Pragmatist style
